Donna Dennis is known for her complex sculptural installations with sound, beginning in the 1970s. Her groundbreaking work reimagines familiar, often humble, structures as cultural icons. Her trademark style duplicates buildings on a human-size scale. Using her own circumstances as a reference point, she has recreated tourist cabins, hotels, and NYC toll booths. Dennis has shown in numerous museums and has received a Guggenheim Fellowship, several National Endowment Fellowships, and Pollock-Krasner Foundation grants.
