Queens-born artist Martha Diamond made the dynamic skyscapes of New York City her trademark territory. She gravitated to St. Mark’s and the New York School, residing nearby on the Bowery for sixty years. Her work uniquely bridged abstraction and a personalized subjectivity. The Aldrich Museum was the first institution (of many) to acquire her work and is presenting an exhibition this year. Her estate is now represented by director Olivia Funk and David Kordansky Gallery.
