Beverly Semmes, (b.1958 in Washington, DC,) lives and works in NYC. She holds an MFA from Yale School of Art. She also studied at Skowhegan and at New York Studio School. A solo show of her work is slated for 2025 at Tufts University where she earned her BFA. “BEVERLY SEMMES: Cut Paste” was held at Susan Inglett Gallery in Chelsea, NYC in 2024. Her earlier solo exhibits were held at museums and galleries including the Hirshhorn (DC), the ICA (Philadelphia), the University of Washington (Seattle), The Ginza Art Space (Tokyo), and the Museum of Contemporary Art (Chicago). Recently she was included in group shows at Wesleyan University, Pratt Manhattan Gallery (NYC), "Witch Hunt" at the Hammer Museum (Los Angeles), and the 57th Carnegie International, (Pittsburgh). Her work can be found in many museum permanent collections.
