Jeffrey Gibson (b. 1972, Colorado) is a citizen of the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians and is half Cherokee. He is representing the US in the 2024, 60th Venice Biennale and he has been chosen for the 2025-26 Metropolitan Museum Facade commission. Currently an artist-in-residence at Bard College, he lives and works near Hudson, New York. He received his BFA in painting from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (1995), and his MFA in painting from the Royal College of Art, London.
