Linda Griggs, born in Clinton OK, is known for darkly humorous paintings dealing with American everyday life. Her current series, “Comfort and Loss,” focuses on places and memories that offer tranquility as a balm against sadness. The most recent of her five solo shows was at Front Room Gallery, Hudson, NY (2026). Griggs has participated in numerous group shows including at the Iwami Art Museum in Japan. She earned an MFA from Hunter College and a BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University.
